In 2023, a new series of collector coins called ‘Jewels of the Casa de la Moneda Museum’ was launched. In 2025, the Royal Mint is putting the second series of these numismatic gems into circulation, which can be admired in our Museum.

The fifth of these pieces is a 2-escudo coin from 1715 minted at the CECA in Lima, where formidable gold coins were hammered, these escudos with a fineness of 23 carats, featuring a quartered coat of arms with castles and lions on a Jerusalem cross on the obverse.

The reverse shows the Pillars of Hercules on waves.
