On the obverse the overlapping effigies of their Majesties the Kings Don Felipe and Doña Letizia are reproduced.

The reverse depicts an image of the event that occurred to Don Quixote and Sancho Panza on the back of the horse Clavileño, according to engraving of Joaquín Ballester, preserved in the Real Academia Española. Left circular upwards and in capital letters, the Don QUIXOTE II legend; further down, the coat of arms of the Royal Spanish Academy. To the right of the central image a circle which contains, in the form of quadruple latent image, a windmill with vanes in four different positions.

The coin comes in a stylish coin case, numbered and limited to 10,000 units.
