The Aqueduct of Les Ferreres forms part of the Tarraco Archaeological Site, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Situated on the outskirts of the city of Tarragona, it is 217m long and has a maximum height of 27m. It was built by the Romans in the 1st century AD to carry water from the River FrancolĂ­ to the city, once the capital of the Roman province of Hispania Citerior, the largest in the Empire.
