The Royal Mint of Spain presents a new series of coins dedicated to the "History of Navigation". These series reproduce a selection of vessels that, for one reason or another, have been relevant over time.
It consists of twenty coins. Four of them were put into circulation in 2018 and the remaining 16 in 2019. To collect them, you can purchase the bookcase "History of Navigation"
, which describes the technical characteristics of each of the boats.

On the obverse, in the central area, is reproduced, in colour, an image of the work entitled "Submarino Galerna (S-71)", painted by Aledo, which is exhibited in the assembly hall of the main building of the Submarines Base in Cartagena (Murcia). To the right, the mark of Ceca. At the top left, in a circular ascending direction and in capital letters, the legend SUBMARINO GALERNA. On the outer part of the coin, in the circular sense, there are aquatic motifs treated in a symbolic manner and, on the lower part, in an ascending circular sense and in capital letters, the legend SPAIN and the year of minting 2019.
On the reverse (common to all the pieces), the face value of the coin 1.5 EURO and the inscription HISTORY OF NAVIGATION appear. Out of the central circle there are six dolphins jumping, counter clockwise, on the same aquatic motifs that appear in the obverses.
