As part of the series dedicated to the animals of the Iberian Peninsula, launched in 2021, the Royal Spanish Mint (FNMT-RCM) is releasing a 1/10-ounce gold bullion coin dedicated to the ‘Brown Bear’.
With a maximum mintage of 10,000 pieces, it is an ideal choice for collectors seeking exclusivity and for investors in precious metals.
As a distinguishing feature compared to other collector coins, the retail price of these 1/10-ounce bullion coins is established on the basis of the price of gold at the time of purchase, increased by 22%.
Important: In accordance with article 103, letter b) of the Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, of 16 November, which approves the revised text of the General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users and other complementary laws, bullion coins are excluded from the right of cancellation, from the moment in which the purchase is formalised.

1/10 GOLD OUNCE BROWN BEAR 2026
The Royal Spanish Mint is making available to the public a 1/10-ounce gold bullion coin featuring the same design on the reverse as the 1-ounce gold coin released in 2025, but in a more affordable format: the ‘Brown Bear’.
The obverse features the motifs and inscriptions of a columnar-style ‘real de a ocho’ coin, whilst the reverse depicts an image of a brown bear.
The brown bear is the largest terrestrial mammal in the wild in the Iberian fauna, ranging across the Cantabrian Mountains and the Pyrenees. Its life expectancy exceeds 20 years and it represents a conservation success story, with a growing population, although it is classified as endangered.
