EUROSET WORLD MONEY FAIR 2025
In 2025 a new commemorative 2-euro coin will be put into circulation, this time dedicated to the Convent of San Esteban in Salamanca.
Continuing the theme started in 2009 of commemorative coins intended to commemorate properties or places included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, it will be dedicated to the Old City of Salamanca.
The obverse depicts an image of the exterior of the Convent of San Esteban in Salamanca.
The regular 2025 coin collection comprises the Spanish euro circulation coins dated 2025, including the €2 commemorative coin.
The Convent and Church of San Esteban in the city of Salamanca dates back to 1255-56, when the Dominicans settled on the site now occupied by the present convent, where the parish church of San Esteban, formerly located in the suburb, was already located.
The old medieval buildings were renovated in the 16th century; this century and part of the previous one marked the golden age of the institution, which provided illustrious theologians and jurists, without forgetting that Christopher Columbus, Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Teresa of Jesus were also here.
