On the obverse, the work The sleep of reason produces monsters, executed by Francisco de Goya y Lucientes between 1796 and 1797 and now held at the Prado, Madrid. The motifs and legends are surrounded by an allegorical border alluding to the Goyaesque strawberry girl (her hair loosely held in a snood decorated with strawberries).

On the reverse, the work Self-portrait of Francisco Goya y Lucientes, painter, executed by Francisco de Goya y Lucientes between 1797 and 1799 and now held at the Prado, Madrid. The motifs and legends are surrounded by an allegorical border alluding to the Goyaesque strawberry girl.
