The FNMT-RCM cryptographic card is, in compliance with Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market, a qualified signature creation device.
The FNMT-RCM cryptographic card supports the use of different X.509.v3 standard electronic certificates, regardless of the Certification Authority that issues the certificates, and can be used as a logon element in Windows.

The FNMT-RCM cryptographic card generates cryptographic keys internally, preventing them from being accessed from outside the card. All cryptographic operations are performed using a private key inside the card itself. The private key cannot be used or copied from outside the card.
The card offers RSA public key algorithms of up to 3840 bits and elliptic curves of up to 521 bits; SHA2-256 for hashing and AES-192 for symmetric encryption. The card's operating system, designed and implemented by the FNMT-RCM, complies with PC/SC specifications and offers applications a PKCS#11 interface and Card Module. Access to the card is protected by a PIN.
